Constraint Settings

Constraints help align one object with another, and can be found under the Parametric tab.
.

Hover your mouse over the tools, and have a look around.

.
.The "Fix" (padlock) constraint is one of the first ones you should use.  Fix what you want to stay stationary, then constrain objects that need to be moved to the fixed base.
.

Click the arrows and check out the menus that come up, make sure all of your tools are available in the ribbon:
.
.
Create a 2D scribble page with various shapes, and play around with using the constraints.
.

You can constrain positions, as well as dimensions.

.
When you have tried out all of the constraint settings, I'll check off your scribble sheet.
.
.
Right click to Hide all of the constraints.
.

.
Play around with different hatch patterns and solid fills!  Just type "Hatch" in the command line, and change the settings and colors around.
.

.
Once you are comfortable using the constraints, use them to complete the WS's out of the book:
. Example: pg 169 requires a tangent constraint to create:

Finish up the WS's out of chapter 4, and then work on your semester long project with your extra time!
